The Weeknd And Post Malone Team Up For Electric Collaboration ‘One Right Now’
The song will appear on Post Malone’s forthcoming and highly anticipated fourth studio album.
Republic Records labelmates and two of the biggest stars in modern pop, The Weeknd and Post Malone have teamed up for the electric collaborative single “One Right Now.” The song will appear on the forthcoming and highly anticipated fourth studio album from Post Malone, though details of the release at the moment are scarce.
“One Right Now” was produced by Louis Bell, Brian Lee, and Andrew Bolooki. A longtime collaborator of Post Malone’s, Bell also contributed to the entirety of the musician’s 2019 album Hollywood’s Bleeding.
The electropop production of the song draws parallels to The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” and finds both singers getting over a past relationship with new romantic prospects.
“You think it’s so easy f__n’ with my feelings (Feelings) / I got one comin’ over and one right now,” they sing on the chorus.
The Weeknd takes the route of complete disconnection on his verse, deciding: “You’re a stain on my legacy / We can’t be friends, can’t be family.”
“One Right Now” marks Post Malone’s second official release of the year, following the single “Motley Crew” shared during the summer. On the promotional end, he partnered with Pokémon for “Only Wanna Be With” in celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
Post Malone also hopped on the DJ Khaled single “I DID IT” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Baby.
The Weeknd has been quite busy with features and releases this year, too. Kicking off the year, he shared the Ariana Grande-assisted remix to “Save Your Tears” from After Hours, followed by an appearance on Doja Cat’s Planet Her single “You Right” and Belly’s “Better Believe” with Young Thug.
Most recently, he issued “Take My Breath” as the first notes of his upcoming album era, teased as The Dawn is Coming. He also hopped on the newly reunited Swedish House Mafia’s latest single “Moth to a Flame.”
