Watch The Who Video For ‘Be Lucky’
The Who have today unveiled a video clip for ‘Be Lucky,’ the newly-recorded track on their ‘Who Hits 50!’ compilation. It’s a lyric video, with typeface mirroring the Roy Lichtenstein-style comic book lettering of the album artwork. The lettering sometimes “explodes” in a way reminiscent of the fight scenes in the 1960s ‘Batman’ TV series, over a compilation of footage from the band’s illustrious career.
As we report elsewhere on uDiscover today, ‘Be Lucky’ is to be made available as a limited edition seven-inch vinyl single as part of Universal Music UK’s ’12 Days Of Christmas’ initiative. It also looks increasingly likely that the track, recorded in Brighton with producer Dave Eringa, will be the forerunner to a new Who album to be released next year. “We’re going to do a whole album. It’s exciting,” Roger Daltrey told the Daily Mirror last month.
The Who are now only a few days away from the beginning of the UK leg of their ‘Who Hits 50!’ tour, which begins next Sunday (November 30) at the SECC in Glasgow. That ittwo shows at London’s 02 Arena on December 17 and 18. After the first of The Who’s tour North American tours next year, which begin in April and September, they return home for previously-announced dates at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on June 21 and 3Arena in Dublin on the 23rd, now followed by the Hyde Park date three days later.
