Cant believe Mary Lou isn’t on the list, and my favorite One Desire. A little edgier than most, love it. Can’t believe I am still in love at the age of 74. Wish Rick got to get
to his old age too.
The often overlooked Mighty Good – the title sums it up – if it had been recorded & released just a few months earlier it would have been another too 20 smash
Agree. These are great but what about his later songs. Garden Party and every song on that album to name a few.
An all time favorite of mine is his Dream Lover cover.
String along. Poor little fool. One of these mornings, Mighty good, A legend in my time, Half breed, Break my chain, and my favourite, My one desire. That list up there is hideous. And where is Garden party?
It’s Up To You; Hello Mary Lou; Poor Little Fool; Traveling Man; Lonesome Town; I’m Walking; Fools Rush In; Teenage Idol; Young World; and I Will Follow You.
believe what you say- hello mary lou- its late- never be anyone else but you- if you can’t rock me-
lonesome town- young world- wonder of you- garden party= any thing Ricky or Rick did was great!! love his music
Rick Nelson Is a rock n roll Icon. So talented… His Legacy will remain solid for generations in the future to know and love his music….. Timeless Treasures.
Ricky’s contribution to the progression of R n’ R in the late 50’s cannot be overestimated! Elvis, Orbison, Lennon and McCartney, Elton John, even Sting and The Boss, all made statements to the effect that Ricky brought a clean image and respectability to Early Rock and Roll. He got even our parents’ feet a-tappin’ while watching Ozzie and Harriet. Everyone has their ‘Ricky Faves’, and here are mine!
10. Young Emotions

RICK NELSON did more to promote rock and roll, because of who he was and his family legacy. Such a loss! These are my favorites : 1. There’ll Never Be Anyone Else But You, 2. Hello Marylou 3. Poor Little Fool and especially his duet with Dean Martin in the jailhouse scene in Rio Brave. My Rifle, My Pony and Me.
James Burton replaced Joe Maphis in the summer of 1957, but is there a detailed discography listing which tracks each played on. I have discovered that into 1958 there were records released with Joe.
1. Travlin Man 2. Garden Party 3. Beleive what you say 4. Hello Mary lou 5. Lonesome town 6.It’s up to you 7. Fool’s Rush In 8. Dream Lover 9. She Belongs to me 10. Teenage Idol

Gypsy Pilot
My Babe
Milkcow Blues
Lonesome Town
Believe What You Say
Hello Mary Lou
Just Can’t Quit
Garden Party
Windfall
Traveling Man
Everyone will have their own favourites for different reasons but the ones included in the top 10 are in no way representative of what the average fan would vote for. Teenage Idol at no. 2 – really?! Apart from Stood Up and maybe My Bucket’s Got A Hole In It none of them would be in my top 30 of Ricky’s songs let alone 10
