Stapleton Does Skynyrd (With Kings Of Leon)
Here’s another memorable event in the fast-moving world of three-time CMA Award winner and four-time Grammy nominee Chris Stapleton. Watch him in action here on New Year’s Eve at the free Bash on Broadway on Lower Broadway in Nashville, guesting with headliners Kings of Leon on an impressive cover of their southern rock forefathers Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s ‘Simple Man.’
As we report elsewhere, Stapleton will be performing at Coachella 2016 in April; before that, he’s nominated at the Grammy Awards ceremony on 15 February for Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Traveller and Best Country Song and Solo Performance for its title track. That follows his extraordinary achievements at the CMAs in November, where he won Best Male Vocalist, New Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.
Stapleton is currently out on a US tour that sees him play two nights at the Tabernacle in Atlanta this week (7/8 January), among other dates. He’ll play what are sure to be three triumphant nights at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on 18-20 February, and is set to make his international debut at the C2C (Country To Country) Festival in Dublin on 11 March, then Glasgow on the 12th and London on the 13th. That’s followed by three German gigs, in Munich, Berlin and Hamburg.
