uDiscover Meets: John Acock, Steve Hackett’s Producer (Part 2 of 3)
As part of our Prog Rocks feature, uDiscover caught up with producer John Acock who co-produced nine of Steve Hackett’s solo albums.
Steve Hackett joined Genesis in 1970 and left in 1977 to pursue a solo career. Hackett contributed to six Genesis studio albums, three live albums and seven singles.
After 9 years as a solo artist, Hackett co-founded the short lived supergroup GTR with another progressive guitarist, Steve Howe of Yes and Asia, before resuming his solo career and releasing albums and touring on a regular basis.
His body of work encompasses many styles, including progressive rock, world music, and classical. His playing has influenced guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, Alex Lifeson, Brian May and Steve Rothery.
Steve Hackett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010.
