Connected By Prog
We love musical connections and here’s a Prog one for you. Richard Sinclair, the former bass player with Caravan also played with Hatfield and the North and for a couple of years Camel. Nothing to do with Peter Frampton’s Camel but the British Prog rock band led by Andy Latimer and Peter Bardens. Prior to joining Camel in 1971 Mr Bardens released a solo album the year before that featured German guitarist Andy Gee, who later temporarily joined Thin Lizzy, Bruce Thomas on bass, he of Elvis Costello’s Attractions fame and Reg Isadore who played with Robin Trower and Peter Green. When the record was released there was a lot of talk that it was Peter Green playing the guitar. Why isn’t this record better known?
Bardens solo album was called The Answer and included this wonderful title track, featuring Mr Gee’s guitar playing. For more on Andy Gee check out his wiki page

I had this on clear vinyl with a different sleeve (brown with negative of Pete thereon)
the observant will notice that during the version of Migration on A Live Record Peter briefly quotes from ‘I can’t remember (what I just thought of)’ during his organ solo..
