Ziggy Marley, Warren Haynes, Liv Warfield (New Power Generation, Roadcase Royale), Broadway star Amber Iman, artist and composer Divinity Roxx, plus Living Colour’s Will Calhoun and Vernon Reid will join the incredible line-up of talent for tonight.

Presented by Gibson, via the Gibson Gives Foundation, Let’s Stay (In) Together: A Benefit To Support The Apollo Theater was originally scheduled for 2 June, to kick off Black Music Month. To honour Blackout Tuesday, the evening was postponed. In a post on Instagram, the Apollo’s team said that, “As a commissioner, presenter and cultural convener, The Apollo remains committed to our mission of supporting black art and culture, creating spaces for artists to express themselves freely, and advocating for the safety, dignity and justice for black people worldwide”.

While funds raised by the benefit will support the pioneering institution’s future, amid the months of cancellations that ensued amid COVID-19, donations will also support the Apollo’s newly-established Harlem Entrepreneurial Micro-Grant Initiative, which will provide support to small and independent Harlem businesses in financial need.

In addition to the newly-added artists above, viewers can also tune in for performances by Kool & The Gang, “Captain” Kirk Douglas of The Roots, Gary Clark Jr, Robert Randolph and Michael McDonald, among many others. Appearances will also be made by the likes of Dionne Warwick, Doug E Fresh and Roy Wood Jr as well as the acclaimed dance duo, Lil Buck & Jon Boogz. The event will be available to stream for free on TIDAL, as well as on the Apollo’s website.
