Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling music artist The Weeknd has released a video for ‘Call Out My Name’ from his new album My Dear Melancholy.
The Weeknd secured his third consecutive US No 1 album with My Dear Melancholy. In addition to the No 1 album, all 6 tracks from the project landed in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, My Dear Melancholy is a quick listen with just six tracks and features French techno artist and DJ, Gesaffelstein, (real name Mike Lévy) on two of the songs, ‘I Was Never There’ and ‘Hurt You’ harks back to Abel‘s moodier earlier work. The synopsis for the album on Apple Music is described it as returning “to his unfiltered, art-house roots with a release so intimate and tortured, you’ll feel like a fly on his bedroom wall”.
The Canadian pop/R&B crooner has been keeping busy since the release of 2016’s Starboy, collaborating with Lana Del Rey, Future, Gucci Mane and most recently Kendrick Lamar on their track ‘Pray For Me’ off the Black Panther soundtrack, as well as writing a Starboy comic for Marvel.
The Weeknd is set to appear at several major festivals over the summer months in support of My Dear Melancholy. He headlines the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival alongside Beyoncé and Eminem. On 27 July, he headlines at the three day Panorama Festival at New York City’s Randall’s Island Park on a bill also featuring slots from Janet Jackson, The Killers, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, The War On Drugs and more.
On Saturday, 4 August, he headlines at Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park alongside Bruno Mars, Jack White and Arctic Monkeys. Finally, The Weeknd heads to San Francisco’s Outside Lands from August 10 – 12 where he tops the bill with Florence + The Machine and Janet Jackson.
