Watch Metallica’s Headline Set From ‘Austin City Limits’ Festival In Its Entirety
The metal icons’ 2-hour performance included classic tracks from their entire career.
Metallica have released the officially-sanctioned footage of their entire Austin City Limits Festival set from the night of Saturday, 6 October, which you can now watch in full above.
The whole Austin City Limits show was live-streamed, but for those who missed it, the band have uploaded the entire 2-hour set to their official YouTube channel. The performance included classic tracks from throughout Metallica’s career, including ‘Seek & Destroy’, ‘Welcome Home (Sanitarium)’, ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls’, ‘One’, ‘Master Of Puppets’, ‘Enter Sandman’ and many more choice cuts.
Thanking the band’s fans at the end of the show, drummer Lars Ulrich said: “Thirty five years ago, Metallica rolled into Austin in the summer of 1983 and played a club called The Nightlife.
“I don’t know if anybody was there. Most of you guys weren’t probably born in 1983, but since then, Metallica has been back to Austin and played a bunch of times and I just want to tell you something: Metallica’s just getting started, so thank you for the 35 years of love.”
The iconic metal outfit are set to resume their WorldWired tour dates later this month across the US and will return to the UK and Europe for further show in 2019.
Elsewhere in Metallica news, the band reissue their classic 1988 album …And Justice For All on 2 November via Blackened Recordings. They’ll also play a rare acoustic show in San Francisco on November 3 to raise money for their All Within My Hands Foundation. Metallica started All Within My Hands In February of 2017. The Foundation aims to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band for years, as well as encourage participation from fans and friends. All funds raised will be donated to a cross-section of national and local charities and all donations received go directly to Metallica’s charity partners.
