Audrey Hepburn’s Holly Golightly is one of the most iconic characters in cinema, but the real scene-stealer of the film was her fluffy orange sidekick named “Cat” who stars in Jepsen’s new visual.
What follows is a cat lover’s dream, as Jepsen serenades a faction of cats inside her apartment, painting their portrait, staging elaborate meals and even smoking a catnip-filled hookah.
The campy video is the perfect accompaniment to this bubblegum dance-pop track and a fun twist that sees Jepsen singing “Waking up next to you every morning, how did we get this far?/ It came without a warning” to her feline friends rather than a romantic paramour.
The star of the video is no ordinary cat, but a famous Scottish Fold and Instagram sensation named Shrampton.
The infectious upbeat track is slated to appear on Jepsen’s forthcoming album and also appeared in recent trailer for the new season of the TV series Queer Eye.
‘Now That I Found You’ is one of the two new singles that Jepsen shared last month including ‘No Drug Like Me’. When asked by Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 radio show why she released two singles simultaneously Jepsen responded: “You’ve got this one opportunity with a single to show what you’re doing right now, and I didn’t feel like one song was a proper representation of that. I think that they [singles] are very different in nature, one is very high energy and ‘No Drug Like Me’ is a little bit darker.”
The famously prolific songwriter also told Lowe that she has written over 200 songs and still in the process of narrowing down what she wants on the album. Her forthcoming fifth album is slated to be released this summer.
