J Cole, Jack White To Be Featured In Virtual Outside Lands Event
‘Inside Lands’ will offer archival sets from past festivals, plus a variety of live-streamed content.
While Outside Lands 2020 was canceled amid the coronavirus, organizers announced a virtual edition, dubbed “Inside Lands,” taking place on August 28 and 29. The event, which will stream for free exclusively on Twitch, promises a blend of archival sets and new performances from the likes of Jack White, J Cole, The Gorillaz, and HAIM, plus interviews with artists and festival curators.
“As we near the festival weekend that should have been, we are thinking of all of the artists and fans that still deserve to be together this month,” said organizers on Outside Lands’ website. While a distinction has not been made as to which acts will perform live, vs. which will be featured in past footage, music fans will certainly have plenty of content to enjoy. In addition to the artists noted above, the bill also includes the likes of Nathaniel Rateliff, LCD Soundsystem, Brittany Howard, Kehlani, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, and Khruangbin, among many more.
“This is an opportunity for Outside Lands to relive and share some of our favorite festival moments with fans both old and new, in addition to showcasing some of the talented artists confirmed for our 2021 festival with exclusive live sets, interviews and past performances,” said Allen Scott, Head of Concerts and Festivals at Another Planet Entertainment and Co-Producer of Outside Lands, in a statement. “By incorporating a live host as well as enabling direct communication between fans and festival producers plus surprise guests via our Twitch channel, we look forward to offering a free virtual festival experience that is both collaborative and compelling for our audience.”
In late June, Outside Lands announced the line-up for their 2021 festivities, taking place August 6 – 8 at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Tame Impala, The 1975, The Strokes, and J Balvin are among the headliners, while many of Inside Lands’ participants are also scheduled to perform next year. Tickets for 2021 are currently available.
