Vince Gill’s 1989 album When I Call Your Name, which elevated his career to new peaks when released as his third full-length studio set, will be reissued in new 30th anniversary vinyl editions by MCA Nashville/UMe on 15 November.

The LP further established the Oklahoma-bred singer-songwriter-guitarist as one of the best-loved writer-performers in country music. It went on to become his first gold album, and later achieved double platinum status. It contained no fewer than four hit singles: the No. 2 title track, the No. 3 ‘Never Knew Lonely,’ the writing collaboration with Rosanne Cash ‘Never Alone’ and the duet with Reba McEntire, ‘Oklahoma Swing.’

When I Call Your Name also won two Country Music Association (CMA) Awards including Single Of The Year for the title track. It also earned Gill his first Grammy Award, for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male, for the same song. The LP, produced by Nashville staple Tony Brown, had guest appearances by Emmylou Harris and Patty Loveless and contributions from such studio A-listers as keyboardist Barry Beckett, bassist Willie Weeks and guitarists Randy Scruggs and Fred Tackett.

The new releases of the album will a standard black vinyl version and a limited edition pressing on metallic gold vinyl. This will be available exclusively online from uDiscover Music and the UMGN Store. The vinyl formats mark the first time that When I Call Your Name has been available on vinyl since its first release.

Gill’s place as a deeply respected presence in country music has continued to expand far and wide, further heightened by the wide praise for his new album Okie, which was released in August. In September, he took part with Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow and Emmylou Harris in the annual All For The Hall benefit for Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, at the Novo Theatre in Los Angeles.
