Tomorrow X Together Release ‘The Dream Chapter: Eternity EP’ And New Video
The rising k-pop group’s third release follows ‘The Dream Chapter: STAR’ EP and their debut full-length, ‘The Dream Chapter: MAGIC’.
Rising k-pop stars Tomorrow X Together have just released a new EP, The Dream Chapter: Eternity, along with a music video for single ‘Can’t You See Me?’. The Dream Chapter: Eternity follows the group’s best-selling 2019 EP, The Dream Chapter: STAR, and their acclaimed full-length debut, The Dream Chapter: MAGIC.
‘Can’t You See Me?’ continues from where the video for ‘Run Away’ (from The Dream Chapter: MAGIC) left off. The song finds the boys singing about their turbulent emotions, confusion, and the cracks in their friendships – visually represented by a burning house.
The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY consists of six tracks, including ‘Drama’, which revolves around the struggles of teenage friendships, ‘Puma’, which compares a boy who meets a strange world to a puma that has escaped the zoo and ‘Eternally’, about searching to find memories from the past.
The EP also includes a reworking of the 90s hit, ‘Fairy Of Shampoo’, from South Korean jazz fusion group, Light & Salt. Tomorrow X Together put their own twist on ‘Fairy Of Shampoo’, including an original rap verse by band member Yeonjun.
‘Maze in the Mirror’, meanwhile, marks the group’s first collaborative song, written by all five members of Tomorrow X Together.
Combining elements of funk, pop, trap, hip-hop and R&B, Tomorrow X Together (read as “tomorrow by together”), are one of the fastest rising groups in K-pop. Members Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai first rose to fame with the release of their single, ‘Crown’, off their debut EP, The Dream Chapter: STAR. ‘Crown’ debuted at No.1 on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, while the band topped the Billboard Emerging Artists chart.
The group followed with their debut LP, The Dream Chapter: MAGIC, just months later. Billboard praised the album for its, “Complex, varied soundscape inspired by the titular theme”. The magazine went onto declare Tomorrow X Together as “This year’s most sonically exciting rookie acts”.
The boys also shone during the 2019 award season in South Korea, where they were named Rookie of the Year at the 24th Golden Disc Awards and Best New Male Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. In the US, Tomorrow X Together were among the nominees for the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards’ Best K-Pop category, while just two months after their debut EP was released, the group successfully sold out their first US showcase tour in six cities.
