Thomas Rhett To Headline Amazon Music’s ‘Country Heat’ CRS Showcase
The bill also features hand-picked rising names Frank Ray, Lily Rose, Conner Smith, and Morgan Wade.
Thomas Rhett will headline at the fifth annual Amazon Music Presents: Country Heat showcase on the opening day of the CRS (Country Radio Seminar) week in Nashville on February 23.
The country star unveiled the new song “Us Someday” last week as another preview of his Where We Started album, due on April 1. The CRS event will have him topping a bill that also features Frank Ray, Lily Rose, Conner Smith, and Morgan Wade. It’ll be hosted by Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson, who helm Amazon Music’s Country Heat Weekly podcast.
“We’re thrilled to bring Country Heat back to CRS this year,” says Amazon Music head of country music Michelle Tigard Kammerer. “We’ve curated a lineup leading with superstar, Thomas Rhett, and featuring four stars on the rise who were also selected as 2022 Artists to Watch by our programming team, and we can’t wait for attendees to watch.”
Frank Ray, a former policeman, is in the vanguard of a new Latino Country movement. His single “Country’d Look Good On You” climbed 36-34 in its 24th week on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart dated February 12. Lily Rose, signed to Big Loud/Back Blocks via Republic/UMG, is gaining attention with singles such as “Stronger Than I Am,” “Know My Way Around,” and “Villain,” and the Stronger Than I Am album.
Also on the CRS showcase bill is Valory signing Conner Smith, who is on the Country Airplay chart with “Learn From It,” also featured on the Didn’t Go Too Far EP. Completing the line-up is Morgan Wade, climbing both the airplay and sales charts with “Wilder Days.” It’s on her Reckless album, which entered Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums chart for February 12 at No.8.
The CRS showcase is set for 6-8pm in the Broadway Ballroom of the Omni Nashville Hotel at the end of the first day of CRS, for which registration is now open.
