The Weeknd Collaborates With Fan Artists On New Clothing Line
The full line includes everything from hoodies, jackets, T-shirts, long sleeves tees and flannels that reference the past imagery of his albums.
The Weeknd has dropped a new capsule clothing collection called ‘On Thursday’ that pays homage to his entire discography.
When it came to designing the eight-piece collection, the R&B singer reached out to two fan artists on Instagram asking them to collaborate on the new line. The full line includes everything from hoodies, jackets, T-shirts, long sleeves tees and flannels that reference the past imagery of his albums including Beauty Behind the Madness, Starboy and My Dear Melancholy.
The Canadian crooner also categories the different pieces as a ‘Chapter’, which seems to allude to his upcoming new album Chapter IV.
‘On Thursday’ follows the Weeknd’s previous clothing drops including his Asia Tour merch in January and his Kiss Land 5th anniversary limited edition apparel. This latest collection goes beyond the typical tour merch aesthetic, incorporating more abstract imagery and artistic flair. While some look like dreamy sketches, others offer a more cartoonish portrayal.
All of the pieces in the collection range from $32 to $78 each and are being sold exclusively on his artist website.
While fans anxiously await his new album, French DJ and producer Gesaffelstein unveiled his new album, with The Weeknd appearing on the new single ‘Lost In The Fire’. The two previously collaborated on The Weeknd’s LP My Dear Melancholy, with the techno artist producing ‘I Was Never There’ and ‘Hurt You’.
As we previously reported, the R&B star teased new material when he performed at a launch event back in November telling fans: “Being in Toronto these past two days, I haven’t been this inspired in years. I got to tell you, Chapter 6 coming soon, let’s get it!”
The singer also recently celebrated his 29th birthday and aired a special birthday episode of his Beats 1 radio show, Memento Mori.
