The Killers Shares Eerie Video For ‘Your Side Of Town’
The visual follows a Las Vegas showgirl as she stalks another woman through the city
The Killers has shared an eerie black-and-white video for its recent single, “Your Side Of Town,” which arrived earlier this summer.
The track, which was released in August, marked the band’s first new material of 2023 and picked up where last year’s keyboard-driven track “boy” left off.
In the new video for “Your Side Of Town,” the camera follows a Las Vegas showgirl in her stage outfit as she dances her way through a resort’s corridors and rooms before entering the casino and heading out onto the Strip. Partway through the visual, which was directed by Tim Mattia, it becomes apparent that the showgirl is, in fact, stalking another woman.
“Your Side Of Town” was produced by The Killers, long-term acolyte Stuart Price and Shawn Everett. The band gave the song its live debut as it headlined Reading & Leeds 2023 days after the track’s release.
In a recent interview about The Killers’ future output, frontman Brandon Flowers revealed he was conflicted about which direction the band should head in next. “The Killers are my identity and our songs fill the seats, but I’m more fulfilled making music like [2021’s] ‘Pressure Machine,’” he said.
He also shared that he had been working on more new material but had shelved a new album because he had realized it wasn’t what he wanted to make. “ I don’t think you’ll see us making this type of music anymore,” he added.
Meanwhile, 2023 may have been quiet for the band in terms of releases, but it has been keeping busy with numerous festival headline appearances. Across the last few months, The Killers has topped the bill at events around the world, including Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful, Ireland’s Electric Picnic, and Atlanta’s Shaky Knees.
In between festival commitments, the Las Vegas band also played a handful of headline dates in the UK and Ireland.
