The Cardigans Join TikTok
The Cardigans are officially joining TikTok just under a month ahead of the release of their new two-disc compilation album The Rest Of The Best, Vol. 1 & 2.
The Cardigans have taken their talents to a new frontier: TikTok.
The Swedish rock band’s first post stitches together a scene from The Office where Andy (Ed Helms) sings their hit song “Lovefool” with footage of the group’s current iteration.

Their new social media account appears as they prepare to celebrate the release of a new two-part compilation of B-sides, The Rest Of The Best, Vol. 1 & 2. The record, out September 6th, was remastered by Ryan Smith at Bergen Sound. It will see both a physical and digital release, the CD version arriving with a 16-page photo booklet compiling images by the band’s longtime photographer Martin Bogren
“Now our audience can listen through all B sides in chronological order and it’s a pure joy to reminisce all the way back to 1993,” The Cardigans shared in a statement. “It’s almost like a forgotten record, or rather four. We hope you’ll enjoy the 13 year ride!”
Yesterday, The Cardigans also shared a new lyric video for “Lovefool.” Written by Peter Svensson and frontwoman Nina Persson, the song was first released in 1996, but peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Singles Chart following a re-release in 1997. The clip, directed by Maximiliam Asplund Gernandt, features a routine from dancer Benitha Kjellbom choreographed by Alice Gernandy.
The new releases follow a 2023 resurgence for the veteran rockers prompted by success on TikTok. Last year, a sped-up remix of The Cardigans’ song “Step On Me” gained viral traction. The group released their own official sped-up remix of the track in April 2023. The original version appeared on the group’s third studio album, First Band On The Moon.
