The Beach Boys Share Color Vinyl Editions Of ‘Pet Sounds’ And ‘The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album’
The Beach Boys also just released a new holiday collection of merch and apparel.
Two of The Beach Boys’ most iconic albums – Pet Sounds and The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album – have been pressed on color vinyl for the holidays.
The group’s 1964 Christmas Album, featuring such timeless Christmas classics as “Little Saint Nick,” “The Man With All The Toys,” “Merry Christmas, Baby,” and their joyous, harmony-laden takes on yuletide favorites like “Frosty The Snowman” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” is available in the colors of Christmas.
Fans can purchase the album on limited edition translucent ruby red vinyl exclusively from the Beach Boys’ official store, uDiscover Music and Sound Of Vinyl, or on limited edition green vinyl at participating indie record stores as part of Record Store Day Black Friday, taking place this Friday, November 24.
The Beach Boys have also just released a new holiday collection of merch and apparel, including a festive sweater, hoodies, shirts, beanies, hats, socks, tree ornaments, and more, allowing fans to express their love of the holidays and The Beach Boys. To help get listeners in the holiday spirit, the band has also shared a “Sail On Saint Nick” animated short, a music video for “Little Saint Nick,” a lyric video for “The Man With All The Toys,” and a whole bevy of new visualizers released this year.
Pet Sounds, the Beach Boys’ magnum opus, is now available on limited edition yellow/green splatter vinyl, which matches the album cover’s unmistakable color scheme. The pressing, which is numbered and features a deluxe tip-on jacket, is exclusive to TheBeachBoys.com, uDiscover Music, and Sound Of Vinyl. This special pressing follows the release of Pet Sounds in Dolby Atmos earlier this year.
Fans can now experience the revered album like never before with the new immersive and revelatory mix by renowned, multiple Grammy-winning producer Giles Martin. In order to create this unique listening experience, Martin, who was personally asked by The Beach Boys to mix Pet Sounds, was given access to the original analog tapes and built the enveloping and enthralling new mix from the ground up using Brian Wilson’s original 1966 mono mix and Mark Linett’s subsequent 1997 stereo mix as guides.
Order Pet Sounds on yellow/green splatter vinyl and The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album on translucent ruby vinyl.
