The 1975 have also committed to planting a tree for every ticket sold.

The band have also committed to planting a tree for every ticket sold. The Manchester outfit have always been very eco-conscious, they recently teamed up with environmental activist Greta Thunberg to repurpose their old tour merch with fresh logos relating to their new album. Thunberg also appears on the track ‘The 1975’ that will also be on the new album.
1975 frontman Matt Healy also appeared on Matt Wilkinson’s Beats 1 radio show today, where he gave more insight into their new single.
“We’re kind of like brothers,” Healy said. “We’ve got a song called ‘Girls,’ and I wanted to just kind of write a song about kind of how much I loved my mates, and I wanted people to have a song that’s like a love song for their mates.”
The band also confirmed they would not be playing Glastonbury this year. Telling Wilkinson, “No, we’re not going to headline. But Glastonbury is exciting this year. I know a lot about it.… I’ve heard amazing stories and amazing things, and I am going to go as a punter. It’s going to be wicked. Maybe I’ll get up and do a little acoustic set with Stone Temple [Pilots].”
