Teyana Taylor’s ‘The Album’ Coming This June
The R&B artist’s hotly-anticipated, third studio album follows her acclaimed 2018 LP, “KTSE”.
Teyana Taylor announced that her third full-length – simply titled, The Album – is slated for a June release via GOOD Music/Def Jam. The Album follows her highly-acclaimed 2018 LP, KTSE (Keep That Same Energy).
The announcement of The Album comes on the heels of Taylor’s single and video for ‘We Got Love’, ft. Ms Lauryn Hill, released in March. Taylor also performed the song on Saturday Night Live’s Season 44 premiere.
Taylor’s sophomore effort, KTSE, garnered wide praise from a variety of outlets, including Thrillist, Complex and Okayplayer, who all included the title on their “Best Albums Of 2018” lists. Billboard also listed the LP as one of its “50 Best Albums of 2018” and one of the “10 Best R&B Albums” of the year.
In an Instagram Live Q&A last month, the artist offered some details on her new record, sharing that, “This album is definitely more of a vibe…There are some head-boppers. It’s not super-fast. You can dance and you can cry and you can ride.”
A native of Harlem, Taylor is known for a variety of talents – from her distinctively smoky vocals to her dynamic dance moves. She has choreographed videos for Beyoncé and danced in videos for others. She has also served as an actress, a songwriter, a producer and as a music video director.
Taylor, her husband (NBA player Iman Shumpert) and their daughter are also the focal point of the VH1 reality show Teyana and Iman, while a new documentary, Assembly Required: Teyana Taylor’s House of Petunia, offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the artist’s most intricate and visually-spectacular concerts. Later this year, fans can catch Taylor in Coming 2 America – the long-awaited sequel to the classic 1988 Eddie Murphy film.
