Watch The Video For Taylor Swift’s New Single, ‘You Need To Calm Down’
The track will also feature on the star’s new album, Lover, set for release on 23 August.
Taylor Swift has released the official video for her new song, ‘You Need To Calm Down,’ and as advance reports predicted, it features a star-studded – and eclectic – collection of the singer’s friends. You can check it out below.
The singer posted a teaser for the video on Sunday, which quickly flashes the names of just a few famous pals who appear. These include Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Reynolds, Bobby Berk, Billy Porter, Ciara, RuPaul, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Justin Mikita, Adam Lambert, Todrick Hall, Hayley Kiyoko, Adam Rippon, Chester Lockhart, Dexter Mayfield, Hannah Hart, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness and Tan France. Swift also reunites with former rival Katy Perry in the video, with Perry donning a burger outfit while Swift dresses as French fries.
Swift has been promoting the new tune on Instagram with images of sprinkles, rainbows, tattoos, crowns and tea.
“I wanted you to hear the song first and then see the video because the video is very worth the wait,” Swift explained in her live stream last week, when she confirmed ‘You Need to Calm Down’ as her next single. She noted that the video, which first premiered on Good Morning America, to “be a separate discovery.”
Adam Lambert told Billboard about his cameo. “It was like a random thing,” he said. “I just got a note. I ran into Taylor at the Ellen show … She was like, ‘Hey, you wanna film a scene with Ellen?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ So look out for it — it’s me and Ellen.”
‘You Need to Calm Down’ is the second song released from Swift’s upcoming album Lover. As uDiscover Music previously reported, the full 18-track collection will be available on 23 August.
Meanwhile, last Friday, 14 June, the singer gave a surprise performance at the Stonewall Inn in New York City and wished the crowd at the site of the LGBTQ rights landmark a happy Pride Month. The Greenwich Village spot was holding an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall uprising, which was a catalyst for the gay rights movement.

I’m not surprised Taylor the space cadet moron airhead bimbo suddenly decided she was gonna get all political and chose sides ensuring her career is gonna go down the toilet? Hasn’t she seen the horrible NFL, ESPN, so called, ‘Celebrity Awards Shows, and Movie industrie’s disastrous ratings and Box Office revenues since they also decided to chose sides and insult and disrespect 50% of the people who actually pay their salaries?
