Taylor Swift Shares Details Of Intimate Paris Concert In September

Taylor Swift has announced she will perform an intimate concert in Paris in celebration of her seventh album, Lover.
Billed as ‘Lenovo Presents: The City of Lover Concert’ will take place at The Olympia Theatre in Paris on Monday, 9 September 2019. The concert will welcome fans from more than 30 countries to experience a once-in-a-lifetime performance from the 10-time Grammy award-winning artist and songwriter. Lover, released on Friday, August 23rd, surpassed over two million global consumption on release day alone. Additionally, The albums also generated the year’s biggest first-week US sales in just 24 hours.
Swift’s new record continues to break records. It set a new Apple Music record before it was even released. Lover is officially the most pre-added album by a female artist ever on Apple Music in the first day with 178.6K Pre-Adds worldwide, breaking the previous record set by thank u, next by Ariana Grande. The album has also set the record for most pre-added pop album in its first day worldwide, since opening pre-adds on Thursday, June 13th with 222.4K Pre-Adds worldwide.
Elsewhere in Taylor Swift news, the star – along with Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish – took home many of top awards at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday evening.
The event was aired live on MTV from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey last night on 26 August with comedian Sebastian Maniscalco playing host for the evening. Swift opened the show with a her new single ‘You Need To Calm Down’, bringing her video to life on the MTV stage in all of its Technicolor glory. Taylor Swift took home two trophies for the visual including ‘Video For Good’ and the night’s big winner, ‘Video Of The Year’.
Swift then things down to perform the titular track off Lover, with just her and a guitar. When she later accepted the award for Video of the Year, Swift praised the LGBTQ dominant cast of the video, saying “My cast live their lives so authentically. Thank you for being the example that you are. I love you guys so much.” And later thanked everyone who signed the Equality Act petition.
