Taylor Swift Confirmed For BST Hyde Park 2020 Show
Part of London’s annual British Summer Time concerts programme, the pop giant’s show will be on Saturday, 11 July.
Taylor Swift has been confirmed as the latest headliner for Hyde Park’s British Summer Time Festival next summer.
The annual concert series, which has so far confirmed Little Mix and Pearl Jam for appearances next summer, will see the pop giant performing on Saturday, 11 July. Tickets will go on sale from Friday, 6 December at 9AM. Visit the event’s official website for further information.
The singer previously played Hyde Park in 2015 to 65,000 fans, the same year she released her record 1989. On that occasion, the star memorably brought out Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, Martha Hunt and Serena Williams during ‘Style.’
It could also be a rare chance to see the singer perform live next year as she recently said she wouldn’t be launching a full Lover tour due to family reasons. “Change happens not only in my career but in my life,” Swift recently told Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe.
The pop stars is also strongly rumoured to be making her Glastonbury debut in 2020, though at present there has been no official word on this happening.
Heightening speculation, Emily Eavis said of the prospect: “Interestingly, for the other two headliners it’s their first time at Glastonbury and we’ve got one male and one female – so there’s a couple of clues there. I’m sure people will guess, so don’t put them to me!”
The Hyde Park news follows the release of Swift’s seventh album Lover, which received critical acclaim and earnt Swift her fourth number one album in the UK.
Next summer, Swift, is performing a run of European festival dates as part of her summer 2020 ‘Lover’ Tour.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, Pearl Jam also recently announced a headlining show for next year’s British Summer Time shows in London’s Hyde Park. They’ll play an outdoor show on Friday, 10 July, with support from Pixies and White Reaper. More acts are still to be announced.
