SZA Shares Inspiring Video For ‘The Anonymous Ones’ From ‘Dear Evan Hansen Soundtrack’

GRAMMY Award nominated, multi-platinum selling R&B superstar SZA has dropped the video for “The Anonymous Ones” from the Dear Evan Hansen (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).

Newly created for the Universal Pictures film, “The Anonymous Ones” was co-written by Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and Amandla Stenberg. The video was directed by Colin Tilley. The visual finds SZA going about her day, lost in a crowd before performing the song on the street to an adoring audience.

“The Anonymous Ones” is a song that reminds us that everyone, even people who seem to have it all together, have their own struggles and insecurities and fears. But when we open up to each other we realize how much we can help one another just by being there for each other. Dear Evan Hansen (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) will be released September 24 through Interscope Records.

Earlier this month, multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award, BRIT, Golden Globe, and Oscar-winning artist and songwriter Sam Smith and acclaimed iHeart Music, ASCAP, and Billboard Award winning R&B singer/songwriter Summer Walker have released their version of “You Will Be Found.”

The full lineup of artists has been revealed for the soundtrack, including Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay, FINNEAS, and Tori Kelly. Plus, the 16-track album features new recordings by the film cast. Among the new songs, the Soundtrack also includes “A Little Closer” performed by Colton Ryan.

Dear Evan Hansen opened on Broadway in December 2016 and became a sensational success, winning six Tony Awards, including those for Best Musical and for Ben Platt as Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. The Broadway cast album went on to win a Grammy. Platt returns as Evan Hansen on the big screen, as an anxious, isolated high school student longing for understanding and a sense of belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social media age.
