Summer Walker Announces ‘A Hot Summer Night In LA’
Other artists set to perform include Ari Lennox, Jazmine Sullivan, and more.
Summer Walker and Live Nation Urban have announced the first-ever A Hot Summer Night In LA, taking over the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA on June 24, 2022.
The event will take place during the BET Awards weekend, and the multi-platinum Atlanta R&B phenomenon will headline a blockbuster bill, including various 21st century R&B and soul mainstays such as Jazmine Sullivan, Ari Lennox, Saucy Santana, Joyce Wrice, Doechii, and Alex Vaughn.
A special pre-sale for Summer Walker fans is running now until May 5 at 10pm PT. General on-sale starts Friday May 6 at 10am PT.
Regarding the event, Live Nation Urban, commented, “Summer Walker is one of the most exciting artists in R&B. She’s elevated the genre to a whole new level, and we’ve partnered for an arena level event that speaks to her groundbreaking influence.”
Last month, Summer released a playful BTS video accompaniment to her massive new single, “No Love (Extended Version),” which features Cardi B and SZA.
The visual features interviews with the cast and crew, plus some exciting looks at the making of the video. The supplement follows the official video for the extended version, which has accrued over 11 million views in the month since its release.
“No Love (Extended Version)” originally featured a music video that reunited Summer with her frequent collaborator, director Lacey Duke. In the video, all three ladies invoke their respective Zodiac signs of fire, water, and air.
In its original form, “No Love” instantly lit up charts around the world upon its debut last November. The song surged to No.1 on Apple Music’s U.S. Top 100 chart and became the first song to dethrone Adele’s long-standing champ “Easy on Me.” Plus, though it wasn’t an official single at the time, “No Love” debuted at No.13 on the Billboard Hot 100 to become Summer Walker’s highest-charting hit.
