Hear The New ‘The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run’ Soundtrack Featuring J Balvin, Tainy, And Becky G

The official soundtrack to the animated film The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run has arrived. Released alongside the film’s streaming debut, the project arrives via NEON16/Interscope Records.

The 9-track soundtrack features appearances from a number of prominent musicians embracing the world of Spongebob. The project opens with Tainy and J Balvin’s 2020 collaboration “Agua” which has amassed over 258 million streams on Spotify and 598 million views on YouTube since its release. Tainy also appears on “F Is For Friends” alongside Becky G and Trevor Daniel. He served as an executive producer on the soundtrack alongside Lex Borrero.

The animated lyric video for “F Is For Friends” was released today as well. The song calls back to the Spongbob “F.U.N” song which features the lyrics: “F is for friends who do stuff together / U is for you and me / N is for anywhere, and anytime at all / Down here in the deep blue sea.”

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) also features appearances from Swae Lee, Tyga, and Lil Mosey on the TikTok-favored song “Krabby Step” as well as hip-hop veteran Snoop Dogg and K-Pop force Monsta X on “How We Do.”

Elsewhere on the soundtrack, Weezer appears with “It’s Always Sunny In Bikini Bottom” and The Flaming Lips and Kenny G provide their own takes on Spongebob-themed original tracks.
