G-funk pioneer and West Coast rap icon Snoop Dogg is finally getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Variety reports.
The rapper, actor and television host will be honoured with a special ceremony on 19 November, with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel presenting him with the star during a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and will be accompanied by Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the stars.
Snoop will be included in the recording category and will receive the 2651st star on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
“Snoop Dogg is one of those people who can do anything. He raps, he acts, he hosts a television show, he cooks, and helps community kids with his philanthropic work,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “He is a man of the ages and we welcome him to our Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
As the co-host of the popular VH1 cooking show Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, Snoop Dogg also announced his first-ever cookbook, From Crook to Cook, which was recently released on 23 October. He also picked up an Emmy nomination last year for his role as executive producer and co-host of the show.
This past summer, the MC hooked up with Damon Albarn’s virtual band Gorillaz for a new song called ‘Hollywood’ which was released in June, and teased a potential collaboration with Eminem, after he shared a photo of the two of them in the studio together in October.
The multi-hyphenate star also made his stage debut in the new stage play about the rapper’s life and storied career called ‘Redemption of a Dogg’.
The Grammy-nominated artist has endless accolades to his name and has released 17 studio albums since his 1993 debut Doggystyle shot to No.1 on the Billboard 200.
