Singer-Songwriter Mollie Marriott To Open For Paul Weller
British singer-songwriter Mollie Marriott has been personally chosen by Paul Weller as his special guest at selected dates on his UK tour in the coming days. She will open for him at his shows in York on Friday (7), Blackburn (8) and Liverpool (9), then guests with Wilko Johnson at seven of his gigs this month, from 13 April.
Mollie also has solo dates of her own during April, including one at Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club on 11 April. She will see the official release of her Truth Is A Wolf album in September, preceded by the single ‘Control.’ Weller’s own 13th solo studio set A Kind Revolution will be released on 12 May.
The daughter of the late Small Faces and Humble Pie rock figurehead Steve Marriott, she is also vocal coach and creative consultant for the hit musical All Or Nothing, based on the story of the Small Faces. Featuring many songs from their much-loved catalogue, the show has just extended its run across the UK, and will play in numerous cities up and down the country until July. Tickets and further information are available here.
A vastly experienced vocalist, Marriott has shared the stage over the past year with such musical giants as The Who, Jeff Beck and Mick Hucknall. She also sang at Bill Wyman’s 80th birthday celebration concert last October, at which the former Rolling Stone was also joined by Robert Plant, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler and Imelda May.
