Selena Gomez Drops ‘Selena x Votes’ Digital Collection Ahead Of Election
The 6-song release includes hits and fan favorites from the last several years and celebrates the spirit of the pop singer-songwriter empowering her fans to get out the vote.
Ahead of the 2020 U.S. presidential election on November 3, Selena Gomez released a themed digital collection called Selena x Votes.
“I put together a collection of my music for you to listen to in line for the polls or while dropping off your mail-in ballot. Make your voting plan at http://iwillvote.com and make your voice heard!” the singer shared on socials.
The 6-song release includes hits and fan favorites from the last several years and celebrates the spirit of the pop singer-songwriter empowering her fans to get out the vote.
Among the tracklist, there are some pointed choices like her 2017 hit “Bad Liar” and Revival’s “Kill ‘Em With Kindness.”
Like many artists, this past election year has seen performers more politically engaged than ever. During a Voting Power Hour last weekend, Gomez talked about voting for the first time, because in the past, she felt like her vote didn’t matter.
“Honestly, I’m not ashamed to say this but I kind of – this was my first time. And I’m going to say that because I never felt – and this is so true – and I’m now like admitting it to people, like my vote counts. Like, every little thing counts so I just think some people get in their head, like, oh well, what does it matter? And then once I really, really started going in and diving into this, it’s been all I can focus on.”
The 28-year-old singer has been a vocal advocate for voter registration and education in this election, serving as a co-chair for Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote initiative, and even narrated an episode of Netflix’s Whose Vote Counts Explained series, which explores voter suppression, the influence of campaign finances, and how to fix the electoral system. The singer also recently hosted a Zoom interview with vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
After dropping her No.1 album rare at the top 0f 2020, the singer has been staying busy during quarantine, launching her own cooking show on HBO Max and teamed up with K-pop superstars BLACKPINK on the hit collab, “Ice Cream,” which debuted at No.13 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The most unnecessary album ever. If someone is a Selena fan they already have these songs. Why stream 6 songs when you’re in line when you can just listen to a full album or a curated playlist??
