Rare, which is officially due out on Friday, 10 January, will get an early preview during the Los Angeles livestream special honouring the follow-up to the star’s 2015 album Revival. In addition to an “intimate look into the details” of the album, special will also feature an exclusive Q&A with KIIS FM’s JoJo Wright.
“It’s the most honest music I’ve ever made and I can’t wait for you to hear my heart,” Gomez tweeted last month along with a grainy video featuring snippets of the videos for the singles released from the album so far, including ‘Lose You to Love Me’ and ‘Look At Her Now,’ as well as first listens to the bouncy title track, the slinky ‘Cut You Off’ and ‘A Sweeter Place,’ which features Kid Cudi.
Fans can listen and tune into the Rare release special for free at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT through the LiveXLive mobile and OTT apps for iOS, Android, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV and Apple TV. The stream will also appear on YouTube, LiveXLive’s Twitch channel and LiveXLive’s socials and fans can listen live by tuning into their local iHeartMedia CHR and Hot AC radio stations across the country.
Of Rare, Gomez previously said the album would be personal and pop-focused when speaking about the work to Jimmy Fallon in 2019. “I’m actually done [my new album],” she told the Tonight Show host. “I have to do a few finishing things with it but I’m just relieved. It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album, and it’s just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that ‘how was I going to capture that?’ and ‘how was I actually going to feel good about what I was saying?’ So I just kept going, and I’m relieved.”
Rare is out on 10 January and can be bought here.
