The Anthem Awards recognize the purpose and mission-driven work of individuals, companies and organizations.

Selena Gomez was honored for her Rare Beauty cosmetics, Jelly Roll for his Power to the Patients initiative, and Becky G earned the award thanks to her work with NPR and her Tiny Desk Concerts “El Tiny” Takeover.

Other Gold Anthem Award winners include Google; George Lucas Educational Foundation; Gayle King with The Schoolys; Keke Palmer with Google’s ‘Black-owned Friday’; The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Amazon Music; GLAAD; and the Clinton Global Initiative.

“This year’s Anthem Awards Winners are a crucial reminder of the many inspiring and courageous leaders around us committed to creating change,” Patricia McLoughlin, Anthem Awards general manager, said in a statement.

In other Selena Gomez news, it was announced earlier this year that she will portray the 11-time Grammy Award-winning artist Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.

Ronstadt confirmed the news on her social media profiles. “It all started with a simple dream ” she wrote in a post sharing Variety’s article announcing the casting. She also posted the link to Rolling Stone’s reporting, accompanied by three beating heart emojis.

Prior to the announcement, Gomez teased her upcoming role of playing the prolific Mexican American singer by posting a photo of Ronstadt’s 2013 memoir, “Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir,” on Instagram.

In recent Jelly Roll news, last month he celebrated the release of his Beautifully Broken album by sharing six surprise bonus tracks. The (Pickin’ Up the Pieces) Deluxe Edition features “Take a Bow (ft. Halsey),” “Don’t Want To (ft. Keith Urban),” “Devil Down (ft. ERNEST),” “Really Gone (ft. Russ),” and “Past Yesterday (ft. Skylar Grey).

The previously-released song “Lonely Road,” a collaboration with mgk, interpolates John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and is co-produced by Travis Barker.

Beautifully Broken is the followup to the artist born Jason Deford’s 2023 country debut, Whitsitt Chapel. It features the hit “I Am Not Okay” and fan-favorite track “Liar.” Another track, “Get By,” was selected by ESPN as the 2024 College Football Season anthem.
