Selena Gomez Continues Spanish-Language Streak With New Single ‘Baila Conmigo’
The single, which features Rauw Alejandro, comes from Gomez’ upcoming Spanish-language EP ‘REVELACIÓN’ out on March 12.
Selena Gomez has released another Spanish-language single, “Baila Conmigo” with Rauw Alejandro, ahead of the arrival of her Spanish-language EP REVELACIÓN out on March 12 via Interscope Records.
“Baila Conmigo” comes complete with an adventurous music video directed by Brazilian filmmaker Fernando Nogari. In the visual, two main characters, portrayed by Kibba and Ariane Aparecida, are connected through the power of music. It features clips filmed in Miami, Los Angeles, and Brazil but is pulled together most by the impassioned choreography and marvelous landscapes of the chosen locations.
“With ‘Baila Conmigo,’ I want to get everyone dancing,” Gomez says. “The video portrays the sense of isolation we all are experiencing right now and how music truly does connect us all no matter where we are in the world.”
Rauw added that “the fact an artist of Selena’s caliber considered me to collaborate on her project is a blessing,” before going on to describe the song as “super catchy and sexy.”
“Baila Conmigo” was executive produced by Tainy and NEON16, who helmed the role for the entire EP. Speaking of the song, Tainy says: “It was a really interesting song for me to work on with Selena, since it fuses an authentic reggaeton sound with elements like the plucked electric guitar that lean more pop. Rauw’s melodies captured that essence and complemented Selena’s very well. I’m excited for this one!”
The track’s release follows the arrival of “De Una Vez” released earlier this month as the lead single to REVELACIÓN and Gomez’ first Spanish-language recording in a decade.
In a statement about the song, the singer stated: “I am incredibly proud of my Latin background. It felt empowering to sing in Spanish again and ‘De Una Vez’ is such a beautiful love anthem.”
REVELACIÓN is out on March 12. It can be pre-ordered and pre-saved here.
