Scorpions, Megadeth and YES featuring Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman have been announced as the headline acts for the third annual 2018 Stone Free Festival. Scheduled for two days on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June 2018, the event will again take place at The O2 in London.

Headlining the opening night are German hard rock legends Scorpions. The show will be Scorpions’ only UK show in 2018 and their first in London for a decade. Joining them on the Saturday bill are thrash torchbearers Megadeth who will also be playing their only UK show of the year at Stone Free Festival.

The Sunday will see prog rock icons YES featuring Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman – also in a UK live exclusive for 2018 – top the bill. The trio toured the UK back in March to rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

Also playing The O2 on the Sunday are Supertramp frontman Roger Hodgson and Joanne Shaw Taylor. Many more acts are still due to be added to both the Saturday and Sunday line-up in the coming weeks and months.

As well as performances from world class bands, a series of extras will be returning to Stone Free Festival including the Speak Easy Lounge, Vinyl Fair, multiple stages taking over The O2 (including the new Stone Circle Stage), comedy and spoken word performers on the fringe stages and a Saturday Night After Show Party.

Also returning this year will be the acoustic beer garden, featuring performances from some of the best upcoming acoustic and rock talent in the country, all curated by Richer Unsigned.

Tickets go on general sale on Thursday, 30 November 2017, though exclusive VIP packages will be made available through the festival’s website.

Drawn up as “a festival of classic rock for true rock fans with the odd piece of pantomime chaos and the occasional contemplative moment thrown in for good measure,” the inaugural 2016 Stone Free Festival was headlined by Alice Cooper while last year’s event saw Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow topping the bill.

Yeah, awesome! I’m in for Sunday night to see Roger Hodgson. I’ve seen him at the Royal Albert Hall in the past couple of years, it’s a rocking show and set list to the point I was stunned awestruck – The Logical Song, Dreamer, School, Take the Long Way Home, Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, Fool’s Overture … I remember feeling WOW, Roger IS Supertramp when his songs just kept coming, one into the next – it’s going to be great !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMLNeSbtVN0

Have been waiting for this great news, Roger Hodgson returning to London (!!) Well now that means I’ll be dancing and singing around the house listening to his music :0) Was hoping for this since reading Roger’s 2018 Tour announcement posted on his Facebook page. And now here it is, so my alarm is set to get tickets this weekend & marked the date on my calendar. https://www.facebook.com/RogerHodgson/

Will be worth the ticket price to just see the brilliant Roger Hodgson! Have seen Roger in concert every year since he performed in Manchester in 2007. At every performance he plays the much loved, crowd pleasing songs he wrote. Gets the audience on their feet, having a blast. Great to hear fan favourites such as Logical Song, School, Hide in your Shell…but for me, hearing Fool’s Overture LIVE is one of the highlights of the evening.
