“Love Me More” will follow on from the star’s 2020 single “The Lighthouse Keeper”, a festive number that was produced and co-written by Labrinth. Smith’s most recent studio album, Love Goes, came out earlier that same year. Details of a full-length follow-up are yet to emerge.

Love Goes peaked at Number 2 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart in November 2020 and included such hits as Number 3 Normani collaboration “Dancing with a Stranger”, the Number 7 smash “How Do You Sleep?” and Burna Boy duet “My Oasis.”

Last November saw Smith contribute to an all-star charity cover of Fleetwood Mac’s classic single “Everywhere” alongside the likes of Ed Sheeran, Yungblud and Lewis Capaldi. Proceeds from the single went to the BBC’s Children In Need.

Last fall, Sam Smith’s “Like I Can” also made it back onto the charts thanks to TikTok. Originally the fifth single from Smith’s much-lauded debut album, In The Lonely Hour, the song became the soundtrack multiple trends on the viral video app.

Written by Smith and Matt Prime and produced by Steve Fitzmaurice, Jimmy Napes and Mojam, “Like I Can” details the comparisons made following the end of a relationship. In the song, Smith assures the subject that they’ll never find anyone quite like them who will love them in quite the same way.

Since going viral on the app in August last year, “Like I Can” re-emerged on the Spotify Top 200 chart at No.77. Following its 2014 release, the track charted in over two dozen countries and landed at No.5 on Billboard’s US Dance Club Songs chart.
