Sam Smith Announces Exclusive Concert From Abbey Road Studios
The October 30 live-stream will celebrate the release of Smith’s forthcoming LP, ‘Love Goes.’
Sam Smith has announced “Live from Abbey Road Studios” – an exclusive live-stream concert in celebration of their highly-anticipated new album, Love Goes, available October 30 via Capitol. The pay-per-view event, taking place on October 30 at 8:00 pm GMT, will include an intimate performance, Q&A opportunities, audience participation, and special guest appearances from Smith’s collaborators.
Smith shared a video on their social media today, sitting on the steps of the iconic London studio. The event, according to Smith, will be their only live performance this year, amid the pandemic. The acclaimed artist will be backed by a full band as they premiere new songs off Love Goes, and perform fan favorites from past albums. According to a press release, the setlist will include such hits as “Lay Me Down,” “Too Good at Goodbyes,” the Grammy-winning “Stay with Me,” plus Smith’s newest single, “Diamonds.”
Fans can get early access to tickets (which start at just £4.00) by pre-ordering Love Goes from Smith’s official store today through Monday, October 5 at 6:00 PM GMT. American Express card members, meanwhile, will have access to soon-to-be-announced exclusive content and packages.
Love Goes marks Smith’s long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s chart-topping The Thrill of It All. For their third studio album, Smith collaborated with an all-star team of co-writers and producers, including Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, Celine Dion), Shellback/MXM (Robyn, Pink, Britney Spears), Labrinth, masterminds Stargate, as well as good friend Guy Lawrence of Disclosure and long-term collaborator Jimmy Napes.
Ahead of Love Goes, Smith has shared “Diamonds” and “My Oasis” with Burna Boy. Both songs follow a series of collaborative singles, which will all be available as bonus tracks on the album. They include the multi-platinum global hit “Dancing With A Stranger,” feat. Normani, “Promises” feat. Calvin Harris, and the joyful “I’m Ready” feat. Demi Lovato.
The two-year-long project, said Smith in an earlier statement, “has been the most experimental time of my life, personally but also musically. Every time I went into the studio, I promised myself I would shoot for the stars and have no limitations. The result has been so magical and so therapeutic and FUN.”
Love Goes is available October 30 and can be preordered here.
