Listen To Country Favourite Sam Hunt’s New Song ‘Hard To Forget’
The single juxtaposes Hunt’s modern, hip-hop-influenced sound with Webb Pierce’s 1953 country staple ‘There Stands The Glass.’
Sam Hunt has followed the announcement of his forthcoming second album and summer tour by releasing the new song ‘Hard To Forget.’ The country star wrote it with Luke Laird, Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Ashley Gorley, Audrey Grisham, Russ Hull and Mary Jean Shurtz.
‘Hard To Forget’ is a stark juxtaposition of country’s modern sound, in which Hunt is one of the artists taking it into hip-hop-influenced territory, and its great traditions. It opens with a sample, and has recurring references to, Webb Pierce’s 1953 staple ‘There Stands The Glass.’
The new song is the latest preview of Hunt’s sophomore album Southside, which as reported will be released on 3 April by MCA Nashville as the follow-up to his multi-platinum 2014 debut Montevallo. His fans have already been enjoying ‘Sinning With You’ and the current top five airplay smash ‘Kinfolk.’
Hunt’s Southside Summer Tour 2020 is due to start on 28 May in Charlotte, North Carolina, with dates running all the way until 26 September, when the itinerary comes to a conclusion in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The headliner will be joined on the bill by guests Kip Moore, Travis Denning and ERNEST, with a DJ set by Brandi Cyrus. The full dates on the tour are listed below.
