Ryan Adams Announces UK and Irish Dates For 2019
The much-in-demand singer-songwriter’s new album ‘Big Colors’ is released by Blue Note/Pax Am on 19 April.
Ryan Adams has announced a new UK and Ireland tour for 2019, during which he is likely to preview material from his new album, Big Colors, which is scheduled for release on 19 April.
The much-in-demand singer-songwriter revealed as much when he wrote “I’m bringing #BigColours to the UK this spring,” on Twitter. “Dance Partay!”
Tickets will go on sale on Friday, 25 January, but fans who have pre-ordered the album from Pax-Am Records will be able to gain access to a pre-sale on Wednesday, 23 January.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, Big Colors was produced by Adams, Beatriz Artola, and Don Was and it’s due out on 19 April 19 via Blue Note, Capitol and Adams’ own Pax-Am label.
Was, who became president of the famous Blue Note in 2012, told Power Up: “I wish everyone could witness the awe-inspiring sight of Ryan Adams recording in the studio…the endless flow of brilliant ideas is mind blowing and he’s clearly tapped into the deepest reaches of the Creative Ether.
“His forthcoming album(s) elevate his art form to a whole new stratosphere and it’s an honor and a thrill for all of us at Blue Note Records to work with him. Oh yeah… one other thing: he’s the most underrated guitarist in rock n roll.”
Adams has already shared two songs from Big Colors so far – the Americana-flavoured ‘Doylestown Girl’ and the Johnny Marr-esque ‘Manchester’. Of the latter, the singer-songwriter said: “Manchester, the city and music of this mystical place shaped my entire life. It is at the heart of all the things I love about music from The Smiths, Joy Division, Oasis, New Order, Simply Red and The Stone Roses.”
Adams has teased that he will be releasing more than one new album before the end of 2019. A second is believed to be entitled Wednesdays, while a third full-length release has also been rumoured, but no concrete details have yet emerged.
Ryan Adams will play the following UK and Irish shows in March and April 2019:

April 6 – Birmingham, O2 Academy
