Philly hip-hop ensemble The Roots (plus very special guests), genre-defying multi-instrumentalist Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, soulful singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc and new-school jazz ensemble Moonchild are joining previously announced stars such Emeli Sande, Chic with Nile Rodgers, Earth Wind & Fire, D’Angelo and N.E.R.D on the bill for the 2018 North Sea Jazz Festival.

Alongside this string of heavyweight names, North Sea will play host to some of the most hotly-tipped up-and-coming acts including iconoclastic quartet Sons Of Kemet, rising star UK saxophonist Nubya Garcia and Manchester-based leftfield piano trio GoGo Penguin, as well as energetic Norwegian nu-soul group Rohey, ground-breaking Canadian trio BADBADNOTGOOD and jazz, grime and electronica influenced group Moses Boyd Exodus.

Running from 13-15 July, the three-day festival will once again take place at the Ahoy Centre in Rotterdam which can be reached in less than an hour by plane or, for the first time this year, the twice-daily train direct from London St Pancras International to Rotterdam Centraal, taking just 3hrs from city centre to city centre.

Since its inception in 1976, The North Sea Jazz Festival has built an unrivalled reputation as one of the world’s most unique and eclectic events which attracts music fans from across the globe. This year, the organisation will present more than 1000 musicians, spread out over 150 performances across 15 stages.
