The updated version of “With A Little Help From My Friends” was recorded live during Starr’s performances at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The all-star concert included Sheryl Crow, Rodney Crowell, Mickey Guyton, Emmylou Harris, Sarah Jarosz, Jamey Johnson, Brenda Lee, Larkin Poe, Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, The War And Treaty, and Jack White.

The two-night performance (held on Jan. 14 and 15) aired as a two-hour TV special on CBS in March, and is currently streaming on Paramount Plus. A celebration of Starr’s legacy in country music, it was pegged to the January release of his country-inspired 21st album, Look Up, produced and co-written by T-Bone Burnett. In February, the former Beatle made his Grand Ole Opry debut in Nashville.

“I love L.A. and have lived there for many years, and while we were recording this in Nashville, many of us had family and friends who were dealing with the wildfires in Los Angeles,” Starr said of the new version. “It was so great performing this song with these incredible artists, and we all wanted to do something to help. I think the song says it all really, ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’, and we send it to all those affected by the fires with peace and love.”

Starr and his All-Starr Band are gearing up for a mini tour, which kicks off June 12 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A complete list of dates can be found at ringostarr.com.
