Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band Postpones Spring Tour Dates To 2021
“We all know it’s the peace and loving thing we do for each other.”
Music icon Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band have officially rescheduled their upcoming North American tour dates until 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tour, featuring special guests The Avett Brothers and former All-Star member, Edgar Winter for select dates, was scheduled to kick off 29 May in Rama, Ontario, and run through 28 June in Clearwater, FL.
“This is very difficult for me”, said Starr in an official statement. “In 30 years I think I’ve only missed 2 or 3 gigs nevermind a whole tour. But this is how things are for all of us now, I have to stay in just like you have to stay in, and we all know it’s the peace and loving thing we do for each other. So we have moved the spring tour to 2021. My fans know I love them, and I love to play for them and I can’t wait to see you all as soon as possible. In the meantime stay safe. Peace and Love to you all.”
Starr and his All Starr Band, whose current line-up includes Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and Hamish Stuart, were also scheduled to play a mini-residency at New York’s legendary Beacon Theater.
The dates were planned in support of Starr’s 20th studio album, What’s My Name, released 25 October 2019. The album pairs the world-famous vocalist, drummer and songwriter with such esteemed collaborators as Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter, Benmont Tench, Richard Page and All Starr bandmembers Steve Lukather and Warren Ham. In a special treat for Beatles fans, Starr is also joined by former bandmate Paul McCartney, as they sing John Lennon’s 1980 demo tune, ‘Grow Old With Me’.
Starr also published a new book of photographs, Another Day In The Life, in October. The collection featured previously unpublished photographs from the former Beatle’s personal collection, paired with the artist’s anecdotes.
