Ringo Starr And His All Starr Band Announce 2019 World Tour Dates
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of his All Starr Band, Ringo Starr is heading out on a worldwide tour in 2019 and bringing an all-star line-up.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of his All Starr Band, Ringo Starr is heading out on a worldwide tour next year along with Men at Work’s Colin Hay, Toto’s Steve Lukather, Santana’s Gregg Rolie, Hamish Stuart and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ham.
The first legs kicks off in March with a one off show in the US at Harrah’s Resort Southern California on 21 March before the band heads to Japan, starting in Fukuoka on 27 March and wraps on 11 April in Osaka.
Along the way, the band will play a number of iconic venues including the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and will feature a few special guests, including the Beach Boys on 3 and 4 August.
August 2019 marks the band’s official anniversary, when Ringo first hit the road in 1989, with Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, Dr John, Billy Preston, Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Clarence Clemons and Jim Keltner. Since then the line-up has evolved over the years, but always included the legendary players from other iconic groups.
The tour will conclude on 1 September at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles and a full itinerary will be announced soon.
In addition to taking his iconic catalogue out on the road, Ringo will also be promoting his new book, Another Day In The Life, his third book with Genesis Publications and will be released April 2019, with pre-orders going live on his website. The book will include previously unpublished photographs and personal anecdotes.
“Reflecting his love of music, travel and nature, Another Day In The Life shows us the world as seen through Ringo’s eyes. From Los Angeles to Tokyo and everywhere in between, many of Ringo’s observational images celebrate the quirkiness of life,” reads the official press release.
