Ringo Returns With All-Starr Album
Ringo Starr will have his 18th studio album ‘Postcards From Paradise’ released by Universal Music on March 30. It features some notable guest appearances and will arrive just ahead of the former Beatle’s induction as a solo artist into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18, when he will receive the Award for Musical Excellence.
The new set includes contributions from friends such as Joe Walsh, Benmont Tench, Dave Stewart, Ann Marie Simpson, Richard Marx, Amy Keys, Peter Frampton, Nathan East and Glen Ballard, among others. As Ringo himself says: “If I’m recording and you’re in town and drop by, you’re going to be on the record!”
The new album, the follow-up to ‘Ringo 2012’ three years ago, will be the first to feature a song written by Ringo and the current line-up of his All Starr Band. This comprises Steve Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie, Richard Page, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette. Starr produced the record himself, at his home studio in Los Angeles.
The release of ‘Postcards From Paradise’ comes 45 years almost to the day since Ringo released his first solo album, ‘Sentimental Journey.’ The track listing for the new album is as follows:
1. Rory And The Hurricanes
2. You Bring The Party Down
3. Bridges
4. Postcards From Paradise
5. Right Side Of The Road
6. Not Looking Back
7. Bamboula
8. Island In The Sun
9. Touch And Go
10. Confirmation
11. Let Love Lead
The album’s arrival will follow the completion of the band’s latest tour dates, in America, then in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and beyond, concluding back in the US on March 15.
