Ramblin’ Man Fair Sets Sail
Media representatives gathered at London’s Westminster Pier yesterday (12) to board the “HMS Ramblin’ Man,” as the boat was renamed, for the launch of the 2016 Ramblin’ Man Fair.
During the journey, guests were treated to an entertaining, unplugged set by Ginger Wildheart and two members of his band. Ginger will be on the Saturday bill at the second annual celebration of classic and contemporary rock, progressive rock, blues and country, in Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent. This year’s festival takes place on 23 and 24 July.
The 2016 Fair has Whitesnake headlining that 23 July bill, which also features Thin Lizzy, Europe, Terrorvision, the Dead Daisies and Inglorious. The Sunday headliners are Black Stone Cherry, supported by Thunder, Airbourne, the Cadillac Three, the Answer, the Kentucky Headhunters and the Graveltones.
23 July also has Family topping the Prog In The Park Stage, which also features Uriah Heep, the Zombies and others; as uDiscover reported last December, Procol Harum will headline that stage on the Sunday, on a bill that also has Hawkwind, Von Hertzen Brothers and Blurred Vision, among others.
The Outlaw Country Stage is headlined by Hayseed Dixie on 23 July, with other attractions including White Buffalo, Supersuckers and Whiskey Myers; Warren Haynes has the headline spot on that stage on the 24th, which also offers Walter Trout, Devin Townsend and Ché Aimee Dorval’s band Casualties of Cool and more. Tickets and further information are at the Ramblin’ Man website here.
