Watch Queen + Adam Lambert’s ‘Live Around The World’ Highlights Video
“We want our music to be alive and dangerous and still open to change”, Brian May says of the band’s ambitions for the future.
Queen + Adam Lambert have shared a special highlights video on their official YouTube channel, which features a compilation of live footage and commentary from Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert on the musical journey they have shared to date and the creation of their new album, Live Around The World, which topped the UK album chart on its release.
Queen’s first album with Lambert, the record became the band’s tenth chart-topping album in the UK, and first since Made In Heaven, just shy of 25 years ago in November 1995. Live Around The World edged out Blackpink’s The Album during its week of release, with the K-Pop stars’ debut debuting at No. 2.
“I’ve always said it’s one of the greatest honors of my career to be singing the music of Queen with Queen”, Adam Lambert reflects in the highlights video which you can check out in full below.
“There’s only one Freddie Mercury and there will only be one Freddie Mercury”, he adds. “It’s such a joy to be onstage and to celebrate him as an artist with Brian and Roger in this amazing band.”
“In Freddie Mercury, we were lucky to have one of the greatest frontmen in the world”, Roger Taylor concurs, “But there’s also no doubt Adam is one of the best singers in the world and we’re so lucky to have him.”
Brian May adds, “Adam’s never an imitator. He finds his way with the songs and that’s what we all want. We want our music to be alive and dangerous and still open to change. Freddie, in particular, would have hated to have things reproduced the way they were and now we take it to a different place. It’s exciting. I don’t think we’d be doing this if we didn’t think we were going into new territories. Every time we work with Adam we do that.”
Live Around The World is out now and can be bought here.
