Public Image Ltd Announce North American Tour Dates
PiL announce 18 additional dates in North America starting in October
Since announcing the 40th anniversary of Public Image Ltd and a world tour, John Lydon and PiL have extended the tour with 18 additional dates in North America.
Starting this October, the seminal punk band will touch down in New Orleans at the Civic Theatre, continuing their celebration of 40 years as a band and the forthcoming career-spanning box set, The Public Image Is Rotten (Songs From the Heart) out 20 July.
Led by the former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon (née Johnny Rotten), the punk godfather will be joined by multi-instrumentalist/guitarist Lu Edmonds, bass player Scott Firth and drummer Bruce Smith.
The group is currently on tour in Europe, having played in Osaka in Japan and will be heading to Prague in the Czech Republic. The North American tour sees them travel up the East Coast including a date in Montreal before wrapping up the tour on the West Coast in November.
The band is also the subject of a new documentary, The Public Image Is Rotten, that’s currently in theatres across the UK and Europe before it makes its North American premiere on 14 September at New York City’s Metrograph. The film will be heading to the rest of North America throughout October and November.
Tickets for the North American leg of the tour go on sale this Friday, 13 July at the band’s official site.
