Paul McCartney has announced the first dates of his 2018 Freshen Up tour, confirming that he and his band will play four shows in Canada in September. They begin at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City on 17 September, ten days after the release of Paul’s new album Egypt Station on Capitol Records.

We’ve always had such a fantastic time playing shows in Canada,” says McCartney. “We can’t wait to return in September for what should be another special run of shows.   We are looking forward to freshening up our show and playing some of our songs from the new album alongside those songs we know you like to hear. Get ready to rock Canada!”

The shows mark McCartney’s first series of live dates since the One On One tour, which played to some two million fans over the course of 2016 and 2017. The Quebec City show will be his first in the capital of the province of Quebec since his 2013 show at the Plains of Abraham on the Out There tour.

The itinerary then moves on to Montreal for Paul’s first show there since 2011, before a return to Winnipeg, where he last played in 2013, and Edmonton, where his last show was in 2012. As previously announced, Paul will follow those dates with headline sets at the17th annual Austin City Limits Music Festival, in his only North American festival appearance of 2018.

He will top an ACL bill that includes Metallica, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, Travis Scott, The National, Hozier, St. Vincent, Janelle Monáe , David Byrne, Camila Cabello and more than one hundred other artists. The event takes place in Zilker Park, Austin on 5-7 and 12-14 October.

17 September: Quebec City, QC – Videotron Centre
20 September: Montreal, QC – Bell Centre
28 September: Winnipeg, MB – Bell MTS Place
