The 1975, J Balvin, Tame Impala Set To Headline Outside Lands 2021
The San Francisco festival will be cancelled this year, amid the coronavirus.
In one announcement, organisers of San Francisco’s Outside Lands have confirmed that this year’s events will be cancelled, amid COVID-19, while also revealing the line-up for their 2021 festivities. The newly-announced event will take place 6 – 8 August 2021, and feature such headliners as J Balvin, Lizzo, The 1975, Young Thug, Tame Impala and The Strokes.
While Outside Lands’ 2020 cancellation comes as little surprise, following a flurry of cancelled or postponed festivals (including, most recently, the rescheduled Coachella), their lineup for 2021 truly gives music fans something to look forward to. Joining the acts listed above are Brittany Howard, Vampire Weekend, Khruangbin, Kehlani, Nelly, Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten, Earthgang, Beach House, Sofi Tucker and Tyler, The Creator, among many others.
Tickets will go on sale for the newly-announced dates tomorrow, 25 June at 10:00 am PST, while passes for the 2020 festivities will be honoured for the following year.
In a statement on Instagram, festival organisers wrote, “We would love nothing more than to be with you this August, listening to our favourite artists in Golden Gate Park and celebrating the best of the Bay Area for our 13th consecutive Outside Lands.”
They continued, “In what has been a disappointing year for concertgoers and the music industry alike, Outside Lands is looking to the future. We all miss the much-needed community and positivity that comes with our annual celebration in San Francisco and we look forward to bringing the music back in 2021. We are filled with excitement, hope, and anticipation as we announce our lineup for NEXT year’s festival…. We can’t wait to be back in Golden Gate Park with you, enjoying the best in music, food, beer, wine, art, cannabis and more for what we know will be our best year yet.”
Organizers also shared that ticket holders who choose to hang onto their passes for 2021 will be “treated to exclusive contesting for upgrades, giveaways and more throughout the coming year”. Those seeking a refund will have until July 24 to do so.
