Gryffin Taps OneRepublic For Euphoric Collaboration ‘You Were Loved’
‘We feel the record is a euphoric, summer anthem that has a strong emotive core to it.’
On their shimmering dance pop collaboration “You Were Loved,” dance producer Gryffin and Grammy Award-nominated pop band OneRepublic reminisce about the one that got away.
Out now via Darkroom/Interscope Records, “You Were Loved” is a nostalgic remembrance of what could have been, with optimism that the final chapter of the love story at its center hasn’t yet been written. “Someday when the future meets the past,” OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder sings. “That’s when we’ll make up for all of the years we went so fast.”
In a statement, Gryffin shared: “I’m extremely excited to release You Were Loved, as this record kicks off a new era for my music. Working with One Republic has been an incredible experience and we’re really happy to have created a song that really aligns with both of our projects sonically and lyrically. We feel the record is a euphoric, summer anthem that has a strong emotive core to it. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did making it.”
“You Were Loved” follows the release of OneRepbulic’s latest single “West Coast” and marks Gryffin’s first official offering since sharing “After You” featuring Calle Lehmann last October.
The release arrives alongside the announcement of Gryffin’s return to the famed Red Rocks Amphitheater for a headlining performance on Friday, October 21. He will be joined by Joel Corry, Surf Mesa, and Dot. Presale for the show begins on Monday, April 4th at 10 a.m. MDT ahead of the general on-sale, which begins Thursday, April 7th at 10 a.m. MDT. Ticket information can be found on the official Gryffin at Red Rocks website.
Gryffin has also been tapped for sets at this year’s Life is Beautiful, Bonnaroo, Firefly Music Festival, and more, in addition to his ongoing Las Vegas residency at The Wynn’s Encore Beach Club and XS Nightclub. Tickets are available on the official Gryffin website.
