In honour of Diana Ross’ 75th birthday, the City of Los Angeles has officially declared 26 March as ‘Diana Ross Day’.
The Motown icon shared the official decree from the city signed by mayor Eric Garcetti along with the message “March 26 Diana Ross Day in Los Angeles! Fantastic !!!” on Twitter.
“In celebration of Ms. Diana Ross’ 75th birthday and in honor of her contributions to American culture, the City of Los Angeles proudly declares Tuesday, March 26, 2019 “Diana Ross Day” in the City of Los Angeles,” the decree reads.
“Ms Diana Ross, with a remarkable career spanning over 50 years, is an international treasure and is one of the most successful recordings artists and entertainers of all time.”

The birthday celebrations continue for the soul and disco diva with her historic 1983 Central Park concert heading to nearly 700 US theatres today and she’ll be hosting a special career-spanning concert at the Hollywood Palladium this evening.
The Diamond Diana show promises to be a night of memorable performances, as she’s joined by her family, friends and fellow artists.
After ringing in her milestone birthday, she took to social media to reflect on her long and illustrious career.
“Hooray! Choosing love and life,” she wrote. “75 is a good number. I’d like to continue feeling good like this forever. Love appreciation to all.”
Ross made headlines last month for her memorable performance at the Grammy Awards and famously declared ‘Happy Birthday to me!”.
It’s been a banner year for Ms Ross and she’ll continue the celebrations when she takes the stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York on 22 June, followed by a three-night residency at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. She’s also scheduled to play New Orleans Jazz Fest and Red Rocks in Colorado on 22 July.
