“You’re only supposed to do this at the pearly gates with Saint Peter,” U.K. pop icon Robbie Williams jokes in the narration of the trailer for his upcoming documentary, “This ‘looking back at your life.’”

The documentary, simply called Robbie Williams, is being described as “a four-part documentary series which features up to 30 years of never-before-seen archive footage behind the star,” and will premiere on Netflix on November 8.

Directed by Emmy and BAFTA nominated, Joe Pearlman, and produced by Ridley Scott Associates and executive produced by Academy Award, BAFTA and Grammy winning director Asif Kapadia.”

Netflix shares that “after 25 years of his record-breaking solo career, Robbie looks back on his younger self and reflects on a lifetime spent in the spotlight.” The trailer follows Williams from the earliest moments of his career, joining Take That at only 16, to solo career highs like winning Brit Awards, to behind-the-scenes personal struggles, to quieter recent moments with his family. “The thing that would destroy me has also made me successful,” Williams reflects at one point. “Touch the fire, push when it says pull, and see if I can live.”

Director Joe Pearlman is known for his work on another Netflix music documentary, Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, following the rise to fame of the Scottish Grammy-nominated artist. Producer Asif Kapadia is also no stranger to the world of music documentaries, having directed the 2015 Academy Award-nominated film Amy, chronicling the life and career of the late Amy Winehouse.

Last year, Williams released a deluxe edition of his debut solo album Life Thru A Lens in celebration of its 25th anniversary. The deluxe edition is available as a 4CD boxed set, on vinyl, and as a digital download. The special expanded 4 CD edition features the original chart-topping and hit-packed record, which included “Angels,” “Let Me Entertain You,” “Old Before I Die,” “Lazy Days,” and “South Of The Border,” alongside bonus tracks and B-sides.
